BIO

Somethingski Trio is a bold, emotionally charged musical project led by vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Niko Soszyński, whose artistic roots stem from years of touring with the internationally recognized Freeborn Brothers. Known for his raw energy, theatrical presence, and unconventional approach to songwriting, Niko brings together two exceptional musicians: Adam Dragan on violin and viola, and Dominik Pyziński on bass guitar and double bass. Together they form a trio that blends folk, punk, world music, and poetic storytelling into a powerful, unmistakable sound.

The band debuted with THINGS in 2021, an eclectic album inspired by folk, rock, and 70s Polish pop. The single “Na Dolinach” quickly reached #1 on the regional Podkarpacka Chart of Hits, drawing attention to the band’s fresh and unpredictable style. In 2022, Somethingski Trio released PUSZCZA, a collaboration with award-winning folk singer Daria Kosiek, based on the musical traditions of the Lasowiackie region. The album reimagines folk heritage through a contemporary lens and earned the Trio a place among the finalists of Mikołajki Folkowe 2022, one of Poland’s most prestigious folk competitions.

Their third record, Howl We Are Free (2023), expanded the band’s sonic landscape, blending dynamic folk-punk energy with introspective songwriting. The singles “Holy, Holy” and “Od Północy do Południa” both gained radio exposure, with the latter spending several weeks on the Radio Rzeszów list.

In 2025, Somethingski Trio unveiled their most ambitious project to date: the concept album THEM SINNERS. This ten-track work confronts the “sins of the modern world” — alienation, blind faith, pride, indifference, war, and the loss of harmony with nature. The album is described by the band as a musical ritual, blending Eastern European mysticism with punk-inspired defiance and emotionally raw arrangements. THEM SINNERS invites listeners into a shadowy yet hopeful world, where every sin is both a warning and a call to transformation.

On stage, Somethingski Trio is known for its intense, high-energy performances, mixing humor with deep emotional resonance. Their concerts feel both wild and intimate — a blend of storytelling, rhythm, and raw expression. Banjo, violin, and double bass intertwine with powerful vocals to create a sound that is earthy, spirited, and unforgettable.

The Trio has toured extensively across Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovakia, France, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, and even Brazil. They have performed at numerous festivals, including Muddy Roots Festival, Roots in Het Park, Broken Necks Festival, Cursus Festival, Zilleghem Folk Festival, Jarmark Garncarski, and Rockowisko, as well as in respected venues such as MEZZ Breda, Patronaat Haarlem, and De Kaai.

With each new release and performance, Somethingski Trio continues to evolve, offering audiences a unique and compelling fusion of folk tradition, punk spirit, and poetic depth. Their latest album, THEM SINNERS, positions them as one of the most original voices in today’s alternative folk scene — a band unafraid to confront darkness and celebrate human resilience.

THEM SINNERS ALBUM PRESS INFO

At the far edge of eastern Poland, in a place you won’t find on any map, lies the village of Pokutno. That’s where the legend was born — the tale of three men who could see the sins of the modern world. Their songs were no ordinary tunes — they were prophecies, warnings, and remedies all at once. From this story grows the latest album by Somethingski – “Them Sinners.”

The record consists of ten songs forming a musical ritual. Each track confronts a different sin: indifference, pride, illusion, forgetfulness of nature, war, and hollow prayers. But these aren’t sermons — they’re raw, emotional stories, full of light and darkness, rhythm and rupture. It’s music that places the listener in the heart of the conflict — and gives them a task: to find the cure — in the sounds, in the words, in themselves.

The sound of “Them Sinners” merges folk mysticism, punk defiance, and poetic sensitivity. Somethingski draws inspiration from Eastern European song traditions and the energy of modern alternative scenes. Acoustic instruments meet electric grit; subtle melodies collide with screams and trance-like pulses. It’s music that won’t let you stay indifferent.

The album was born as a response to the chaos of today’s world. In times when everything burns — from forests to human bonds — “Them Sinners” stands as an act of artistic resistance. It’s more than just a collection of songs — it’s a coherent story about endings and beginnings, about the belief that every sin can be overcome — if we dare to face its shadow.
